On Tuesday, April 28th, 2009, my lovely wife Grace and I attended the Acts 29 regional meeting at St. Louis. Acts 29 exits to promote church planting. One of the speakers was Ed Stetzer who wrote a book called "Lost and Found. The younger unchurched and the churches that reach them."
As we pray to reach out to the unchurched students here at the U of I, Ed presentation is very relevant to us.
His key points are:
Young people are hungry for spiritual things and they are ready to listen to the gospel. They are somewhat confused.
We can reach out to young people via:
1. Community
2. Content (in depth)
3. Social Responsibility
4. Cross generational connection
Here are some practical advices:
1. Create a deeper community
2. Make a difference through service
3. leading young adults to experience worship
4. delivering content
5. connect young adults through technology
