2 decades of marriage and going strong

I have been married two decades.But I learned three thing from my marriage.

1. "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst." (1 Tim 1:15). I thank God for his saving grace through his Son, Jesus.

2. "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies." (Prov 31:10) I thank God for gracing me with a woman of noble character.

3. "Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate". (Psalm 127: 3-5) May God grant us many young men who can contend for the gospel of our LORD Jesus. I see the importance of raising young men as disciples of Jesus.

The other day my mother reminded me that my father came to the USA at my age now, 47. She encouraged me to learn America and love American students. She did not say to eat Big Macs, which was my father's sandwich. That day, I went to McDonald had a Happy meal and cried for the grace of our LORD Jesus who called me as his servant, not because I was good but because he had great hope on me.

From 2 Samuel 5-6, I learned that David served his people for 40 years. By God's grace if he wills, I have two more decades to serve. I am reaching my half way point this year. May God help me to finish well the second half by God's grace and learn to serve American students with the word of God.
