The Mercy of God in the Bible

How do you read the Bible? What is the Bible about?

One way to answer this question is to see through Jesus' answer. When Jesus called Levi (changed to Matthew by Jesus' mercy) as his disciples, many Bible scholar grumbled about his choice.

Jesus said of his choice like this:
On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Matt 9:12-13)

The Bible is about God's mercy for us. Each book of the Bible we can see Jesus' mercy for us. He is full of mercy. He is full of grace and truth. (John 1)

Dane Ortlund goes each book of the Bible and see God's mercy for us. This is a good excercize as you read the Bible.

Here is the link to Dane's article. Happy reading the Bible.
