Work or Worship

What is worship? It is to experiencing God.

Luke 10 shows two women who experienced Jesus in two different ways. Martha was distracted but failed to listen to Jesus.

Mary on the other hand experienced Jesus by
  • Opening her heart
  • Sat at the feet of Jesus
  • Chose to what he said
  • Received what is better and everlasting
Why we worship Jesus?

Because we need only one thing that is needed. Christianity is very simple. Our Father gives us the one thing that we need?

What do you need in the Christmas time?

We have needs. God knows this. Someone wants to marry. Some wants to have more gifts. Some need more money. Of course our Father knows all these things.

But what does he gives us?

He gives his Son to us so that we can worship and listen to him.
We are all worshippers made in the image of God. We have this thing inside of us. We do not get this one thing, we will worship other things.

How do we worship?
We can be so much distracted by Martha. Martha loved Jesus. Jesus knew her very well. But in order to worship Jesus, she got upset with many things.

In order to worship Jesus we need God's grace. So Jesus told Martha.
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

There are good things but Jesus who loved Martha told her that there is something better. One thing is to sit at Jesus' feet and listen to him.

Christianity is to put our trust in Jesus' finished work. We do LESS so that Christ can do more through us. (See what it means to do LESS here.)
