Dr. Fountain's Visit

From our brother Don sent us a note.

In a few days Dr. Daniel Fountain is returning from 2 months in Africa and will be with us here in Champaign-Urbana next week (March 2-3)

... I have once again attached the flyer that explains the times Dr. Fountain will speak and interact with us at Stratford Park Bible Chapel in Champaign. Please take one more look at the flyer and mark your calendar. I’m positive this old warrior will encourage you to stay on the narrow road!

After Dr. Fountain’s wife (Miriam) of 52 years died last year, Dr. Fountain wrote an essay called “Reflections from the Refiner’s Fire.” In one part he writes about the principalities and powers of evil mentioned by the apostle Paul in Ephesians 6, saying this category of illness is common. We dealt with many manifestations of them in Africa. They are also quite common in the U.S. and far more difficult to deal with because western culture and bio-medicine are not able to recognize them or approach them effectively.”

Here Dr. Fountain speaks from the depths of his own struggles:

I wrestled with God on this one. Miriam has never been involved in occult activity, but she grew up in Africa and we served for 35 years in Africa in the midst of an occult-based tribal culture. Long experience has shown how occult powers can invade the human personality even without the knowledge or consent of the person ‘infected.’ I spent hours in prayer attempting to deal with any possible evil spiritual influences in her life.

Jesus said, ‘The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy.’ Was not Myelodysplasia (malignant bone marrow disease) a thief, straight from the Evil One? I shouted at it and commanded it to leave in the name of Jesus. I did this until the Spirit of God gave me peace that all of this had been dealt with by Jesus on the cross and Miriam has been living under the cross all of her life.”

Friends, this is the kind of honesty and wisdom Dr. Fountain brings with him. I'm looking forward to being at the event with you...
